Building Better Product & Engineering Organizations for the AI Era

AI is changing far more than the products we build. It is changing how products are discovered, designed, engineered, and delivered.

I research and work with product and engineering organizations exploring what comes next.

AI Is Changing How Software Gets Built

AI is affecting every part of product development. Traditional boundaries between Product Management, Design, and Engineering are becoming increasingly fluid.

AI allows smaller teams and individuals to take ideas further across the entire product development lifecycle.

The key question is no longer simply “How do we add AI to our product?”

It is increasingly “How should we change the way we build products because AI exists?”

That question sits at the center of the advisory and research.

What I'm Exploring

Product Engineering

How the boundaries between product management and engineering are changing — and what new roles, skills, and operating models may emerge.

AI-Native Product Development

How AI tools and agents are changing discovery, design, engineering, experimentation, and delivery.

The Product Operating Model

How organizations can evolve processes, teams, and decision-making to take advantage of AI — without bolting tools onto old workflows.

Researching the AI-First PDLC

I'm currently interviewing product leaders, engineering leaders, founders, and practitioners to understand how AI is changing the way software products are built.

The research explores a central question:

What does the product development lifecycle look like when AI becomes a core part of how products are discovered, designed, built, and operated?

These conversations are contributing to an upcoming book on the AI-First Product Development Lifecycle.

I'm particularly interested in learning from people who are actively experimenting with:

  • AI-native product development
  • Product Engineering
  • AI-assisted software development
  • Changes to product discovery and planning
  • New roles and team structures
  • AI agents and autonomous development workflows
  • How product, design, and engineering responsibilities are evolving

Are you experimenting with this?

If you're a product or engineering leader actively rethinking how your organization builds software, I'd love to talk.

Exploring How Your Organization Should Adapt?

Whether you're experimenting with AI-enabled development, rethinking the role of product and engineering, or trying to understand what changes actually matter — I'd love to compare notes.
